What percent of our passing plays end with us getting sacked?
What percent of opposing team’s passing plays end with us sacking them?
Al Davis once said the other team’s Quarterback must go down.. and he must go down hard.
(NEW, CUSTOM STAT):
How effective are we at getting yards after the catch?
This can reflect how well the play caller’s play designs yield space, or could reflect how well the QB’s decision making and accuracy allows for Yards After the Catch.
Lastly, it can also reflect on the team’s receivers (WRs/TEs/RBs) knack for creating bigger plays from each opportunity.
(NEW, CUSTOM STAT):
How good are we at clamping down and preventing bigger plays.
This also gives insight to our Tackling, as well as some other fundamentals (like angles taken to the ball carrier, field awareness and play reaction time)
(NEW, CUSTOM STAT):
What % of our throws were dropped by our WRs, TEs, and RBs
By using % of Throws Dropped (instead of just total drops) it automatically accounts and corrects for teams that simply throw the ball more.
Thus, this is an actual reflection of how often we’re dropping passes compared to other teams.
As of the end of Week 18, in 2022 we’ve dropped the ball about 1.8x as often as the #1 ranked team (3.77% vs 2.04%)
(NEW, CUSTOM STAT):
How many Interceptions did each team ALMOST throw, but the other team’s defense dropped it?
(NEW, CUSTOM STAT):
How many Interceptions did every team’s defense drop?
These are opportunities that got away!
(NEW, CUSTOM STAT):
How good is our Offensive Line at resisting pressure without the other team blitzing?
The better we are, the more often other teams are forced to take defenders out of coverage & “waste” them blitzing you. This creates holes in the defense, which we can attack.
How do you calculate this (for Offense)?
You take how often you’re pressured and divide it by how often you’re blitzed:
(% Dropbacks Pressured) ÷ (% Dropbacks Blitzed).
– Thus, if you get a value of 1, you’re really only getting pressured when blitzed (1:1 ratio).
– If you get a value > 1, then you’re giving up pressures even when they’re NOT blitzing.
– If you get a value < 1, then you’re preventing pressures when they don’t blitz.
(NEW, CUSTOM STAT):
How good is our Defensive Line at generating pressure WITHOUT us having to Blitz?
The better we are, the more people we can drop into Coverage to shut opponents down.
How do you calculate this (for Defense)?
You take how often you’re able to generate pressure and divide it by how often you blitz:
(% Dropbacks Pressured) ÷ (% Dropbacks Blitzed).
– Thus, if you get a value of 1, you’re ~only generating pressure when you blitz (1:1 ratio).
– If you get a value > 1, then you’re generating pressures even when you’re NOT blitzing.
– If you get a value < 1, that means you’re struggling to generate pressure without blitzing.
Our combo of Maxx Crosby + Yannick Ngakoue & DTs last year destroyed the league.
It wasn’t even close. But now how are we this year?
